NHANDA DEVI

NHANDA DEVI's unique voice arises from an inner sense of being.

Her singing reflects the power of surrender, transcending the ego's limited personality and linking us to our true nature.

This music creates a space of stillness and inner peace.

Out of her experience Nhanda Devi inducted a special way to work with voice. In 1991 she initiated the 'Project Mystery Voice'. In her workshops she assists people to find their own unique way of self-expression.

Her new release BRIDGE TO ISIS picks up where her prior recording CHANTS FROM ISIS left off and presents the listener with the essence of Nhanda¹s
soul with a clear message sung in a flowing, natural chant.

The instrumentation on this recording comes from Nhanda herself performing on harp, gu-cheng, and other traditional ethnic percussion instruments.

She is joined by DAVID MIOU as a co-producer on BRIDGE TO ISIS. David has composed many of the keyboard nuances and percussion arrangements which range from sensual bass lines to solemn ambient enhancements.

Adding to the soul-stirring,meditative percussive rhythm of her chanting and the production accompaniment is the subtle drone of the didgeridoo which is played by NAMITO.

The release is an inspiring addition to the collection of female vocalists available today. Excellent for both meditation and movement, the release takes the listener on a journey through Nhanda¹s vocal essence.

The completion of the journey follows the pattern of a guided meditation as she delivers a spoken word piece - "Remember (Who You Are)" that begins by describing meditation and practice as similar to sleeping as the body has no intention and no goal.
